How a funding portal for 700+ organisations came to be

It began with an email inbox and an Excel list. Today more than 700 organisations submit their documents through a portal, checked automatically, in production since 2025.

The old way

Documents arrived by email. Someone checked them by hand, copied data into lists and sent queries back one at a time. It costs time, it is error-prone, and every additional organisation makes it worse.

What I built

At ISG GmbH I rebuilt the funding portal, which replaced an older system. Files are uploaded, checked automatically, processed, and the submitters are notified. More than 22,000 uploads have run through it so far. It handles personal data, runs within the EU, and data protection was part of the design from the first architecture sketch.

Building a portal is one thing. That it has run reliably for years is another.

What mattered

The value sits in operations. The flow runs reliably today, every step is traceable, and the checking happens automatically instead of by hand. This exact step, turning a paper or mail based process into a checked system, is what I now do for small and mid-sized businesses.

I built this portal as an employee at ISG GmbH. It stands here as an example of the kind of work I do, and of the operation that comes after it.
